Location: Birmingham
Duration: Part-Time, Ongoing
Salary: £2.21 per hour

The School/Role
We are looking for a reliable and supportive Lunch Time Supervisor to join a welcoming SEN school in Birmingham. This part-time role is vital in ensuring pupils have a safe and enjoyable lunchtime, both in the dining hall and during playground activities. You will work as part of a supportive team, helping pupils with special educational needs to eat safely, interact positively, and enjoy their break time.

Key Duties

  • Supervision: Oversee pupils in the dining hall and playground during lunch break.
  • Support with Eating: Assist pupils with collecting food, eating, and clearing up, while promoting independence.
  • Safety & Wellbeing: Ensure pupils are safe, happy, and engaged during lunch and playtime.
  • Encouragement: Promote positive behaviour and support pupils in developing social and communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with school staff to provide a supportive environment for all pupils.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children (school setting preferred)
  • Patience, reliability, and a caring nature
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable

  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Experience supporting children with SEN needs
  • Flexibility to cover additional hours if required
  • Valid photo ID (Driving Licence or Passport)
  • Recent work-based references
