Balfor Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Oldbury from September.
This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a confident HLTA who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a real difference in the classroom.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
- Work with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
- Deliver high-quality learning while promoting positive behaviour and an inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the wider school team to support students’ academic, social and emotional development.
Requirements
- Must hold a recognised HLTA qualification/status.
- A minimum of 6 months’ UK experience working as a HLTA within a school setting is essential.
- Experience working with students with ASC and/or PMLD is highly desirable.
- Confident delivering lessons independently and supporting learning across KS3–KS5.
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
- A patient, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
