Acquisition Surveyor

We are looking for an Acquisition Surveyor to be part of a live programme of destination and out-of-town acquisitions, relocations, and disposals. This is not a watching brief. You will own the cycle from first approach through to completion, and then handle the disposal of the units left behind once the relocation is done. It is real work, with real deals, and a programme that needs someone to drive it.

The brief covers acquiring new destination and out-of-town sites, securing the terms, and managing the move from existing premises into them. Each relocation triggers a disposal, so you will be working both sides of the deal at once. That means juggling several live transactions, keeping each one moving, and knowing which one needs attention today keeping all advised. The detail matters here.

Ideally you will know this market because you have worked in it. You can read a catchment, judge a pitch, and tell the difference between a site that looks good on paper and one that will actually trade. You understand heads of terms, you can hold your own with agents and landlords, and you negotiate deals that stand up when the lawyers get involved. Disposals need the same instinct in reverse. You will know how to present a unit, find the right buyer or tenant, and get it off the books at a sensible figure.

This suits ideally a Chartered Surveyor accustomed taking ownership rather than a desk in a large department. You will deal directly with the people making the decisions, see projects through from start to finish, and have a genuine say in where the portfolio goes next. There is no layer of management sitting between you and the outcome.
