Senior Practitioner

Swindon Borough Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join their Children's Social Care services on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable practitioner to take on a senior role, providing leadership within the team while managing complex cases to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage complex cases across Child Protection, CIN, and Looked After Children services.

• Provide professional leadership and guidance to less experienced social workers within the team.

• Undertake high-quality assessments and care planning to ensure timely and effective interventions.

• Chair multi-agency meetings where appropriate and contribute to quality assurance processes.

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partner agencies to support best outcomes for children.

• Ensure all practice is compliant with legislation, statutory guidance, and Swindon Borough Council’s policies.
