General Medicine SHO / FY2 Locum x2 - Mater AMU, Belfast (Aug 2026)
Two locum SHO / Foundation Year 2 Doctor positions available in the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at the Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. £50–£55/hr assignment rate. Duration: 5th August 2026 to 2nd February 2027, Monday to Friday 09:00–17:00.
The Mater AMU provides acute medical assessment and management for undifferentiated medical presentations requiring same-day or short-stay care. As a locum SHO in the AMU you will clerking acute admissions, perform initial investigations and management plans, present to the consultant-led ward round, and support patient flow and discharge planning. The post offers excellent exposure to the breadth of general and acute medicine in a busy urban teaching hospital environment.
Minimum 6 months’ UK clinical experience is required — clinical attachments and observerships are not accepted. Applicants must provide an updated CV with explanations for any employment gaps, GMC number with active registration confirmation, passport copy for photo ID, and two recent clinical references in the relevant specialty and grade. AccessNI is required for all locum doctors.
