General Surgery Senior Clinical Fellow - Regional Neurosurgery Unit RVH
The Regional Neurosurgery Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast requires a Senior Clinical Fellow locum for approximately 3 months with an immediate start. This post is equivalent to ST3+ level and sits within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust General Surgery / Neurosurgery department.
CVs for consideration must be submitted by Friday 19 June 2026 at 12:00pm. Candidates must have a fully compliant file before CV submission. This post is offered at a £60–£70/hr assignment rate.
Post details: Clinical Fellow in Neurosurgery at RVH working at the level equivalent to ST3+. The role will involve working within the Regional Neurosurgery service, one of Northern Ireland’s specialist surgical units.
Essential criteria:
- Full GMC registration plus licence to practise (both required at time of appointment)
- Completion of Basic Surgical Training with FRCS/MRCS or equivalent postgraduate qualification
- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English (medical degree taught in English OR IELTS Overall 7.5 / Speaking 7 / Listening 7 / Reading 7 / Writing 7, OR OET medical version)
- Minimum ST3+ equivalent surgical experience
- AccessNI clearance (mandatory for all HSC locums in Northern Ireland)
- Right to work in the UK
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Two current professional references in surgery
- ALS/BLS certification
