Specialty Trainee (ST4+) - Neonatology
Grayscale Medical is recruiting an ST4+ Specialty Trainee in Neonatology for the Royal Jubilee Maternity Service (RJMS), Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This full-rota locum position pays a £60–£70/hr assignment rate and starts 3 August 2026 for an initial one-month period, with a view to extension.
The Royal Jubilee Maternity Service is Northern Ireland's largest maternity unit and a regional centre for high-risk obstetrics and neonatal intensive care. The ST4+ doctor will work a full rota including days, long days, nights, and weekends within the Neonatology department, contributing to the assessment and management of preterm infants, critically ill neonates, and complex neonatal presentations. Rota swaps and leave must follow the department's established process.
Mandatory training requirements include BMJ Hyponatraemia, Right Patient Right Blood online modules (Blood Components and Indications for Use, Safe Transfusion Practice, Consent for Transfusion) and practical transfusion competencies (Competencies 1 and 4). A fully completed LD1 form is required alongside a full document pack in line with the BHSCT framework. Submissions not meeting framework standards will not be considered.
Requirements: ST4+ grade with minimum 6 months UK neonatal experience; valid GMC registration with licence to practise; AccessNI clearance; right to work in the UK. Pay is at standard HSC framework rates.
