Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support) | Grantham NG31
Long Term Futures are recruiting a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Grantham. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping young people develop emotional resilience, confidence and independence within a supportive, structured environment.
Whether you have school-based experience or have worked with children or young people in another setting, this is a meaningful opportunity to grow your education career.
Location: Grantham NG31
Pay: £90–£106 per day
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:45pm (term time)
Contract: Long-term to permanent
Start: ASAP – February half-term
Your Responsibilities
Provide calm, consistent support to pupils 1:1 and in small groups
Assist with structured and personalised learning activities
Build trusting relationships that promote emotional stability
Encourage positive choices using nurturing, supportive strategies
Help maintain a safe, predictable and well-structured classroom
Participate in practical, hands-on learning both indoors and outdoors
What Makes You a Strong Candidate
Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role
Confidence supporting SEMH needs or behavioural challenges
Warm, empathetic approach with resilience and patience
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Genuine commitment to helping pupils overcome barriers and succeed
