SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 5 | Nuneaton (CV10)

Long Term Futures is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 5 to support a pupil with ASD and ADHD on a 1:1 basis at a welcoming, two-form entry primary school in Nuneaton (CV10).

This is a long-term SEN Teaching Assistant role with the potential to become permanent, ideal for someone calm, consistent and passionate about inclusive education.

Role Overview

• Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 5

• Location: Nuneaton, Coventry (CV10)

• Pay: £460–£500 per week

• Start Date: 05 January 2026

• Contract: Long Term (with permanent opportunity)

• Hours: Full Time | 08:30–15:30 | Term Time Only

The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 5)

As a Year 5 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with ASD and ADHD

• Implement EHCP strategies, behaviour plans and tailored interventions

• Use consistent behaviour management and de-escalation techniques

• Support emotional regulation, focus and engagement in lessons

• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team

• Track progress and contribute to reviews and support plans

• Help create a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment

Person Specification

We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who has:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (or equivalent)

• Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD and behaviour needs

• Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum expectations

• Confidence delivering SEN interventions and structured support

• A patient, reliable and nurturing approach

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
