Finance Analyst

Role: Finance Analyst – Interim Contract
Location: Central London

Contract: 2 Month Contract

Day Rate: £375–£450 per day (Inside IR35, via umbrella company)

Working Pattern: 5 days per week in the office

About the Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Analyst to join a large, established organisation on an interim basis, based in central London.

Working closely with the Finance Business Partners and Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering financial analysis, reporting and modelling to support business performance and decision-making.

This is a highly analytical position, with approximately 80% of the workload focused on payroll analytics and reporting, with the remaining 20% covering overhead analysis. Strong data analysis, reporting and financial modelling skills are essential, alongside the ability to work through complex datasets and produce meaningful insights for senior stakeholders.

The role will suit a qualified accountant with a strong analytical background who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, demanding environment. You will need to be proactive, resilient and hands-on, with the ability to take ownership of a busy workload and remain flexible when deadlines require additional hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver detailed payroll analysis and reporting, accounting for approximately 80% of the role.
• Analyse payroll data, identifying trends, variances and areas requiring further investigation.
• Develop and maintain financial reports, models and analytical tools to support business decisions.
• Conduct overhead analysis, providing insight into costs, expenditure and financial performance.
• Work closely with Finance Business Partners and the Financial Controller to provide accurate, timely financial information.
• Interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly to key stakeholders.
• Support the delivery of reporting deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality and analytical outputs.
• Take ownership of the workload, providing flexible support to the wider finance team when required

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Strong analytical experience, with proven financial reporting and modelling skills.
• Experience working with payroll data and delivering detailed payroll analysis.
• Strong data analytics capabilities, with the ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Experience analysing overheads, costs and financial performance.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex financial information.
• Previous Big Four experience would be advantageous.
• A resilient, professional and proactive approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Comfortable working five days per week in a central London office, with flexibility around working hours when required.
