Educational Support Worker

With the summer holidays now around the corner we have seen unprecedented demand from mainstream and SEND schools requiring long-term support for the new academic year. Due to this, Desian Education are supporting a large number of schools across Halton with long-term SEN teaching assistant cover for the new academic year.

We have a number of outstanding vacancies were you will play an integral role in education and development of pupils with specific needs within mainstream and SEND schools. This would be the perfect opportunity for someone wanting to transition to a school setting from a residential background.

What we are looking for:

• A genuine passion for supporting young learners
• Experience supporting complex and profound needs (ASD, LD, SLD, SEMH, non-verbal is advantageous)
• Be comfortable completing personal/intimate care (only required with younger year groups)
• The ability to effectively manage behaviours
• The ability to build strong constructive relationships

What you need to succeed:

• Full “Right to Work” in the UK
• Relevant referenceable experience supporting children and/or adults with complex and profound needs
• Have an Enhanced Children’s DBS certificate or willingness to obtain
• Be able to commit to a long-term contract (full-time 32.5 hours is highly advantageous)
