About the role

My client, an international pharmaceutical company based in Vienna, are currently searching for an experienced Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.  For 70 years, our client have manufactured and sold prescription medicines, veterinary medicines, and over-the-counter products. Our clients medicines are trusted and known for their high quality, manufactured in the EU, and sold in over 70 countries.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics
  • At least 3 years of experience as an accountant
  • Good knowledge of Austrian accounting standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Advanced user of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Fluent German and English skills
  • Experience with accounting software (Navision/Business Central, SAP) is an advantage
  • Experience with general ledger functions
  • Experience with forecasting, budgeting, reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

MAIN TASKS AND FUNCTIONS:

  • Carrying out documentary and financial control of accounting documentation (distribution, approvals, reliability of documents, accuracy, etc.)
  • Recording of business transactions in the information system
  • Data capture for payroll, asset accounting, material management, bank balances, provisions, etc.
  • Taxation management – ​​calculation, accounting and reporting of VAT and other taxes
  • Assist in the preparation of various financial documents, statements, reports, analyses of the company’s business activities according to the company’s requirements
  • Assistance in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with local accounting standards and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
  • Stay up to date with local accounting and tax regulations and ensure compliance
  • Conduct/participate in annual inventory of assets and liabilities
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable accounting (invoice booking, communication with customers and suppliers, reconciliation procedures, revenue, costs, etc.)
  • Manage and monitor fixed assets
  • Carry out VAT calculation, posting and reporting
  • Take on tasks and responsibilities in the area of ​​office management
