This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is skilled, dedicated and ready to play a key role in shaping the educational journey of the children at Oakwood Infant School.
The Green Oaks Federation consisting of Oakwood Infant School and Greenfields Junior School is set within the village of Hartley Wintney and is part of a diverse and supportive community.
Working in a Federation provides a unique set of opportunities. Although two separate schools, our curriculum and ethos spans both schools and all staff have the opportunity to work at either site. We believe that learning is a life long journey of discovery and new experiences and we encourage teachers to lead learning that is not only matched accurately to need, but promotes curiosity, excitement and wonder.
Our vision is built on our core value of respect and the need to respect ourselves, each other and our future.
We are looking to appoint a part time teacher who has the enthusiasm and ambition to excel. The successful candidate will:
- Be a dedicated and ambitious teacher who understands how to motivate, engage and inspire learning
- Understand how to construct a curriculum that provides purpose and agency
- Be part of a teaching team who believe that learners are entitled to an education that equips them with the knowledge, skills and values they need to embrace the opportunities and challenges as a global citizen
- Have an excellent understanding of assessment for learning and actively use this to inform planning and teaching in real-time
- Be able to teach flexibly and responsively within a lesson to address misconceptions and deepen learning
- Understand how to make feedback visible for pupils and use this to close gaps, challenge thinking and engage learners
- Be relationship driven, and understand how to create a class community that reflects the values and ethos of our school
- Be committed to their own and others professional development through research, mentoring and coaching
We can offer:
- Our schools have an established reputation for excellence within its own community and beyond
- The opportunity to be part of a research driven Federation that is passionate about teaching and learning
- A curriculum that is designed to develop local and global citizenship through project based learning
- The opportunity to work with highly professional and ambitious people who genuinely believe that every child matters and deserves the best education possible
- The chance to be part of innovation and excellence
This role is suited to either:
- an experienced EYFS teacher who is ready to step into leading teaching and learning by modelling excellence in their own class whilst mentoring and coaching others
- A newly or recently qualified teacher who is able to demonstrate the knowledge, attributes and capacity to grow into an outstanding teacher through an excellent understanding of teaching, learning and assessment
