3006 2nd line IT Engineer

Have just come back from a visit to a prep and pre-prep in the Chilterns, near Chesham.

They have a vacant 2nd line role and require someone to cover it on an interim basis until Christmas, with the possibility to extend into the new year or for the right person, to go permanent.

The shifts and location will require a car driver and owner, unless you live very close to Chesham. 8-4 days with a weekly 10-6 shift.

You’d be the lead IT support person onsite under a strategic and hands on IT manager, but the major attraction is the in-house IT tech available in such a setting. As much as possible is in house and includes:

Hybrid AD, 365 and Azure. Meraki and Smoothwall, Hyper-V cluster with Server 2019 and 2022, Windows laptops and desktops as well as 1-1 Ipads and Chromebooks for years 5-8, managed predominately in house.

There’s lots of tech to get acquainted with and project work to support, the staff are welcoming and the teaching cohort are switched on so lots of challenge there, as important as the tech knowledge the school are keen to get someone personable and client facing.

It is essential you have education experience and for the contract, a DBS on the update service, or able to start and run one during half term next week.
