Artis HR is supporting a growing, people-focused business in Cheltenham with the appointment of a People Advisor.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR career within a smaller, fast-paced business, where they can get involved in a broad range of HR activities and make a genuine impact. Rather than working within a large, highly structured HR function, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with the HR Manager, take ownership of day-to-day processes and support the business as it continues to grow.

The role

Working closely with the HR Manager, you will support the full employee lifecycle and help ensure the smooth running of the People function. Responsibilities will include:

Acting as a first point of contact for day-to-day HR and employee queries.

Supporting employee relations processes, including preparing documentation, coordinating meetings and maintaining accurate records.

Coordinating recruitment activity, from advertising vacancies to managing candidate communications and interview arrangements.

Managing onboarding administration and ensuring a positive experience for new starters.

Drafting and updating HR documentation, including contracts, offer letters, job descriptions and policies.

Supporting people initiatives, change management activity and improvements to HR processes.

Maintaining accurate employee records and supporting the wider HR administration function.

About you

We’re keen to hear from someone who has experience in an HR or People role and is looking for a varied, hands-on opportunity.

You’ll ideally bring:

Experience in an HR, People Advisor or HR administration role.

Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

Confident written and verbal communication skills.

The ability to manage competing priorities and use your initiative.

A proactive, approachable and practical attitude.

The confidence to work in a smaller business where flexibility and a willingness to get involved are important.

Experience within a smaller business or a less structured HR environment would be particularly well suited to this opportunity. CIPD qualification or working towards one would be beneficial but is not essential.

What’s on offer?

Salary of £35,000-£37,000, depending on experience.

Hybrid working, with one day per week working from home on a Thursday or Friday.

25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.

Location and eligibility

The role is based in Cheltenham, so you must be able to drive and travel to the office as required. Applicants must also have the right to work in the UK.
