Associate Director – Capital Markets / Investment Banking Change Consultant – Up to £120K

A leading independent operations and technology consultancy that works across the Financial Market is currently looking for an Associate Director to join their business. With a focus on transformational change activities across Infrastructure functions (Finance, IT, Risk, Operations) providing clients with multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex, challenging problems. Those activities centre on areas such as programme framework and delivery, operating model design, organisation & leadership development, as well as the provision of subject matter expertise in post-trade operations, Clearing, Collateral and Treasury/Funding/Liquidity.

The Role:
The role focuses on the oversight, management and development of multiple client assignments covering all capabilities (Derivatives Markets, Technology, Trade Processing & Operations, Organisation Development) and the growth of revenue derived from them.

Specifically the objectives of the role and the tasks that the person will be responsible for are:

• Leading multiple assignment teams
– planning, resourcing and managing throughout the lifecycle of client assignment
– responsibility to clients on a day-to-day basis for assignment health & progress against deliverables
– lead the analysis of client opportunities and the production and presentation of appropriate solutions/proposals – do this in a way that takes account of the systemic nature of most change opportunities and involve colleagues with complementary skills to strengthen and differentiate their offerings
• Build close, collaborative sponsor and client relationships, spotting and developing opportunities where the business can provide services to clients. These should include services from all capability areas.
• Lead (in conjunction with Business development colleagues) the sale of the agreed range of consultancy offerings/propositions
• Build close collaborative relationships with colleagues and involve them in shaping and delivering differentiated solutions
• Provide insights into the market for their services
• Support marketing and pre-sales activities through contributing to IP and propositions in response to potential client and/or sector challenges and issues and producing authoritative white papers
• Attract, manage and develop more junior colleagues to produce a strong cohesive team of consultants and create followership

Background/Skills/experience:
• A recognised science based degree
• A strong track record of consulting experience within financial markets
• Strong, hands on Operations and/or Technology experience within financial markets
• A demonstrable background in project/programme management and hands-on delivery of major change/transformation programmes
• A track record of liaison, communication and relationship building – managing senior clients/stakeholders consultatively and effectively

Domain Knowledge:
• Breadth and depth of financial product knowledge across multiple asset classes
• “Big 4” consultancy experience ideal to help shape future growth in our fast growing, niche, independent organisation.
