About the role
Lead technically demanding projects for major public and private sector clients while building the profile needed for progression beyond Chartered Building Surveyor level.
The successful Chartered Building Surveyor will join a national multi-disciplinary consultancy with an established London presence and a strong pipeline across healthcare, education, commercial, residential and infrastructure property. The team combines the resources of a larger business with accessible directors and clear regional progression.
The Chartered Building Surveyor Role
The Chartered Building Surveyor will manage projects from feasibility through completion, coordinate in-house design disciplines and deliver selected professional services. Instructions include complex refurbishments, compliance programmes, estate upgrades and decarbonisation projects.
You will lead client relationships, support junior surveyors and contribute to bids and framework opportunities. The role offers visible responsibility and a route towards Senior or Associate level based on delivery, client feedback and commercial contribution.
The team is selective about the work it takes on, placing emphasis on clear advice, sensible workloads and long-term client relationships.
Surveyors are encouraged to bring ideas forward and improve how projects are delivered, rather than simply follow a fixed corporate process.
The appointment has been created around secured work, so the successful person will join with a meaningful pipeline rather than an expectation to build one from scratch.

- Lead refurbishment and improvement projects
- Act as Contract Administrator and Employer’s Agent
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary consultant teams
- Prepare specifications, tender documents and reports
- Undertake surveys and building pathology investigations
