About the role
Core Trainee - Cardiology (RVH, Oct)
Locum SHO/Core Trainee required in Cardiology at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. This assignment covers ad hoc day shifts from 26th to 30th October 2026, 08:00–17:00.
The RVH Cardiology department requires an SHO-grade doctor for specific shifts on the junior rota. You will manage cardiology inpatients, review new admissions, assist with cardiac investigations, participate in ward rounds, and support the on-call cardiology team. This post requires 6 months UK experience, 4 months of which must be in cardiology. Candidates must be Encompass trained.
Shift dates: Mon 26 Oct, Thu 29 Oct, Fri 30 Oct (08:00–17:00).
£50/hr assignment rate for this locum position.
Requirements:
- GMC registration with licence to practise
- Minimum 6 months UK experience, 4 months in cardiology
- Must be Encompass trained
- Regional Framework compliancy (updated CV, Access NI check, references in specialty and grade)
- Right to work in the UK
- Up-to-date AccessNI clearance (DBS does not suffice for Northern Ireland)
- Professional indemnity insurance
- ALS/ILS certification (accredited course)
- Two recent references in the specialty and grade
