About the role
£500–£600 per day | Inside IR35 | 6-Month Initial Contract | Fully Remote
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a major network and cyber security transformation programme for a leading UK energy organisation, working through a well-established IT services and technology consultancy.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to several strategic technology initiatives, including Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), SD-WAN and cloud connectivity, alongside a further phase of a cyber resilience and data protection programme.
Working closely with project managers, technical specialists, business stakeholders and third-party suppliers, you’ll play a key role in gathering and translating requirements, coordinating delivery activities, and ensuring solutions align with business objectives, technical standards and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business, technical and operational requirements across network and cyber security initiatives.
- Translate requirements into user stories, features and acceptance criteria using Azure DevOps and other delivery tools.
- Support requirements traceability, scope management and delivery prioritisation.
- Facilitate requirements-gathering workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder meetings.
- Act as the link between business stakeholders, technical teams, security specialists, architects and external suppliers.
- Work with technical subject matter experts to ensure proposed solutions meet business needs, architectural standards and operational requirements.
- Support project planning, milestone tracking, dependency management and delivery coordination.
- Maintain requirements documentation, decision logs, assumptions, risks, issues and actions.
- Support testing, validation, business acceptance and service transition activities.
- Prepare stakeholder updates, project reports and governance documentation.
- Assist with change control, stage-gate approvals and benefits tracking.
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst or in a similar technical analysis role.
- Experience supporting IT infrastructure, networking, cloud or cyber security projects.
- Strong requirements-gathering, analysis and documentation skills.
- Experience translating business and technical requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar requirements and delivery management tools.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts in plain English.
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage requirements across multiple workstreams.
- Exposure to Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), SD-WAN or cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-datacentre connectivity.
- Experience supporting backup, recovery, data protection or cyber resilience programmes, ideally involving Rubrik.
- Experience working within large enterprise environments and structured project governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies, testing and service transition processes.
- Day Rate: £500–£600 per day
- IR35 Status: Inside IR35
- Duration: 6-month initial contract
- Location: Fully remote
