This unique setting provides personalised, therapeutic-informed education for boys aged 13-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, SEND, EHCPs, and histories of trauma or disrupted education.
n addition to leading Maths, you will teach a personalised secondary curriculum tailored to pupil's starting points, interests, and EHCP targets, fostering strong relational bonds to re-engage young people with learning and prepare them positively for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities:
Maths Curriculum Leadership: Lead, evaluate, and develop an accessible, multi-sensory Maths curriculum and accreditation pathways (GCSE, Functional Skills, Entry Level) across KS3, KS4, and post-16.
Specialist Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons alongside secondary curriculum areas based on school operational needs and your teaching strengths.
Trauma-Informed Practice: Build strong, attuned relationships, creating a calm, predictable, and emotionally safe classroom environment that supports emotional regulation.
EHCP & Progress Tracking: Plan from starting points and EHCP outcomes, contributing high-quality reports for annual reviews and PEPs.

Subject Expertise: Secure subject knowledge in Maths across KS3/KS4 with the ability to lead curriculum pathways. Experience teaching a secondary curriculum model in special education is highly desirable.
Experience: Proven experience supporting secondary-aged young people with SEMH needs, SEND, complex behaviours, or trauma presentations.
Compliance & Clearances (GCA Standards):
Essential: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service covering BOTH Child & Adult Workforce (or a commitment to obtain one immediately).
Essential: Safeguarding, Prevent, and Allergy Training completed within the last 12 months (or a commitment to complete these prior to placement to meet full GCA clearance standards, which Randstad is compliant with).
Skills: Calm, relational, and reflective approach with strong behaviour support and de-escalation skills grounded in empathy and clear boundaries.
