Cover Teacher

Location: Hackney, East London
Pay Rate: £100–£160 per day – dependent on experience
Job Type: Flexible Daily Supply / Part-Time

Principal Education is looking for confident, adaptable and reliable Cover Teachers to work across secondary schools in Hackney. We are particularly interested in graduates, aspiring teachers and individuals seeking flexible, part-time supply work who want to gain valuable experience in education.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to fit work around other commitments while gaining hands-on experience in a classroom environment. Candidates with backgrounds in sports coaching, youth work, tutoring or working with young people are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects during teacher absences.

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and keep students engaged in their learning.

• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.

• Support students with their work and follow school policies.

• Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate staff members.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.

• Strong communication, organisation and behaviour management skills.

• A confident, calm and professional approach.

• Flexibility to work across different subjects and year groups.

• Right to work in the UK.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
