The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist to support a service in the South East of England.

This locum opportunity runs from ASAP to 31 December 2026, offering a varied and rewarding role across gastroenterology services. The position includes outpatient clinics, inpatient ward work, on-call commitments, and weekend cover, supporting service provision within a busy hospital environment.

You will work alongside established clinical teams, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care while supporting day-to-day gastroenterology services.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver high-quality Consultant-led Gastroenterology care across inpatient and outpatient services
• Conduct gastroenterology outpatient clinics and manage patient treatment plans
• Provide ward-based care, including assessment and management of gastroenterology inpatients
• Participate in the on-call rota and support out-of-hours service requirements
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, AHPs, and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with NHS standards
• Support safe, effective, and efficient service delivery across the department
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care and clinical governance

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Gastroenterology (essential)
• Relevant recent NHS Consultant Gastroenterology experience
• Experience delivering clinics, ward work, and on-call responsibilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of an established multidisciplinary team
• Strong clinical judgement, communication, and professionalism
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
