About the role

Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant

Looking to build strong KS2 classroom experience before teacher training? Help pupils move faster through the basics with smart, well-structured intervention.

*** Primary Graduate Teaching Assistant
*** November start until July 2027
*** £81 - £101 per day
*** ‘Outstanding’ primary school, Wolverhampton
*** Provide 1:1 and small group intervention sessions in KS2

What you’ll do:
You’ll work with Years 3–6 to deliver tightly focused catch-up sessions in reading, writing and maths. Expect to pre-teach key content, run short retrieval and fluency drills, and coach pupils on how to apply strategies independently. You’ll prepare lean resources, keep sharp notes on progress, and agree next steps with class teachers after each cycle.

Who you are:
A clear communicator who’s organised, reliable and ready to learn from experienced staff. You break tricky ideas into simple steps, keep sessions purposeful, and build steady confidence—especially with pupils who need an extra nudge.

Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication – Strong verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Held already or willingness to obtain.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine commitment to KS2 progress and inclusion.
• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.

The School:
An ‘Outstanding’ primary in Wolverhampton with clear routines, excellent resources and a collaborative KS2 team. You’ll receive practical coaching, shared planning and regular feedback so you can make impact quickly and build a strong platform for ITT.

How to Apply
Send your CV and include your November availability, DBS status and two referees if possible. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief call and in-school interview/observation. Apply early—the school may appoint before the closing date.

Due to the high number of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted.
