The role & about the client
 
ITS Construction Professionals South are recruiting on behalf of a well-established main contractor for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join a 6-month+ external refurbishment project in Reigate.
Working alongside the Site Manager, you’ll assist in the day-to-day management of a live refurbishment scheme, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This is a great opportunity to join a reputable contractor on a long-term freelance assignment with the potential for further work upon completion.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the project.
• Coordinating subcontractors and monitoring progress against the programme.
• Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety regulations.
• Carrying out quality inspections and snagging works.
• Assisting with site inductions, toolbox talks and daily briefings.
• Maintaining accurate site records and reporting on progress.
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and the client team.
• Helping to coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics.
• Supporting the successful delivery of the project on time and to budget.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as an Assistant Site Manager on refurbishment projects.
• Experience overseeing external refurbishment works, including packages such as roofing, cladding, render, façade repairs, window replacements or similar.
• Valid SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work certificate.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to build good working relationships with subcontractors and the wider project team.
• Immediate availability or the ability to start at short notice.
