The Role & About the Client

ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager on behalf of a well-established construction contractor delivering a major construction project in Arundel. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor working on an 18-month project. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

• Supporting the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the project.
• Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site trades.
• Monitoring progress and ensuring works are delivered to programme.
• Checking drawings, specifications and construction information.
• Carrying out regular quality inspections and ensuring works meet specification.
• Assisting with site logistics, materials and deliveries.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with health and safety requirements.
• Maintaining accurate site records and documentation.
• Liaising with the Site Manager, Project Manager, subcontractors and wider site team.
• Assisting with snagging, handover and completion activities.
• Supporting the successful delivery of the project to programme.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working as an Assistant Site Manager on construction projects.
• Commercial construction experience is essential.
• Residential or general building experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and site operations.
• Experience managing subcontractors and site trades.
• Good understanding of quality control and health and safety procedures.
• CSCS Card (essential).
• SMSTS (essential).
• First Aid at Work (essential).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider site team.
