Quantity Surveyor, Tuxford

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum DOE

Location: Tuxford

A well-established and growing business within the construction sector are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join a successful organisation where they will play a key role in managing project costs from inception through to completion.

The position would suit candidates with experience in construction, civil engineering, manufacturing, fit-out or related sectors who are looking for a role offering autonomy, career development and long-term stability. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have worked as a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Surveyor, Cost Manager or similar commercial positions within the construction industry.

• Manage projects from pre-contract stage through to final account settlement
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and financial forecasts
• Procure subcontractors and suppliers whilst ensuring best value is achieved
• Prepare, submit and negotiate client valuations and applications for payment
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payment processes
• Monitor project costs and identify any commercial risks or opportunities
• Manage contract variations and change control procedures
• Prepare and present Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and commercial reports
• Review contract documentation, including NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
• Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors
• Support and mentor Junior Quantity Surveyors where required
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
• Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is desirable
• Strong commercial awareness and financial management skills
• Experience working with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience mentoring or supporting more junior commercial staff would be advantageous
• Full UK Driving Licence

• Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience
