Hexwired Recruitment is working with a globally recognised research and development company specialising in advanced audio technology, currently seeking to fill a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer job in Geneva to join its growing engineering team in Geneva, Switzerland.
Due to continued expansion and increasing demand from an international customer base, the company is looking for an experienced embedded software professional with strong Linux Kernel development expertise and a passion for high-performance audio systems. The RoleAs a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and optimisation of embedded software for next-generation audio products. The position requires a high degree of technical independence, with the successful candidate expected to take ownership of complex projects while also collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Working on advanced audio and streaming technologies, you will help develop robust, high-performance solutions used across a range of commercial and professional applications. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux software for advanced audio products.
- Contribute to Linux Kernel development and low-level system optimisation.
- Work on high-performance embedded platforms supporting audio processing and streaming technologies.
- Take ownership of software development projects from concept through to implementation and support.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
- Support system integration, testing, debugging, and performance optimisation activities.
- Contribute to the development of innovative products for a global customer base.
- Work independently on technical challenges while supporting wider project objectives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing embedded Linux systems within audio, video, broadcast, or related technology sectors.
Essential requirements include:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Embedded Systems, Electronics, Audio Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- More than 10 years of commercial experience developing Embedded Linux solutions.
- Strong expertise in Linux Kernel development and low-level software engineering.
- Previous experience working within the Audio, Video, Broadcast, Entertainment, or Media Technology industries.
- Interest in audio technology, audio streaming, or video streaming systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex technical projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive engineering mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
