The RoleCluePoints is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join its Finance team and contribute to the continued development of the organisation’s Data & Analytics capabilities.
This position will play a central role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a scalable enterprise data platform. Working within the Data & Analytics team, you will be responsible for building and optimising a centralised data warehouse infrastructure that supports reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision making across the business.
Using your expertise in Kimball data modelling and Azure technologies, you will develop reliable data pipelines and ensure data from multiple sources is integrated consistently and efficiently. You will work closely with Senior Data Analysts to provide curated and aggregated datasets that support Power BI reporting and business intelligence requirements.
The current data platform is based on a Medallion architecture and Kimball methodology, supporting more than 70 Power BI models and delivering thousands of insights to stakeholders throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data architecture solutions within Microsoft Azure.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using Azure Data Factory to integrate data from multiple sources.
- Design and optimise staging and production layers within the enterprise data warehouse.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity through governance frameworks, monitoring processes, and quality assurance procedures.
- Analyse source systems, APIs, and raw datasets to support effective data ingestion and transformation.
- Maintain technical documentation, including data dictionaries and data models.
- Share knowledge and best practices across the team to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Senior Data Analysts to support complex SQL queries and Power BI reporting requirements.
- Provide reporting support and continuity when required.
- Work effectively within a hybrid and globally distributed environment.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience designing and managing enterprise data warehouses and delivering scalable cloud-based data solutions.
Essential Requirements
- At least seven years of hands-on experience designing and maintaining data warehouse solutions using Kimball methodology.
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory for ETL development.
- Expertise in Azure SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Key Vault, and Logic Apps.
- Advanced data modelling skills with the ability to create scalable warehouse architectures.
- Proven experience optimising data loads for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Understanding of modern data technologies and the ability to design solutions that support future business growth.
- Experience integrating data from multiple systems while ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities across data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Ability to work closely with analysts, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practices.
The following experience would be advantageous:
- Previous experience working within a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI for reporting and visualisation.
- Knowledge of Azure cost optimisation and cloud resource management.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Understanding of data quality frameworks and monitoring practices.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric technologies, including Fabric Data Factory, Lakehouse, and Warehouse components.
- Experience designing hybrid data architectures that combine data lakes and data warehouses within Azure environments.

- Enterprise Data Warehouse built using Medallion architecture.

- Power BI, supporting more than 70 reporting models.
