About the role
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Term-time only)
Salary: Grade 4 (£25,583-£25,989 pro rata)
Contract: Temporary
Looking for a rewarding role that lets you be home in time to pick you children up? Or maybe you want a meaningful job where you leave your work at the door at 3:00 PM?
We are looking for a relatable, grounded Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic co-educational secondary school in Horsham.
You don't need a background in education to do this well. If you are a calm, patient, and naturally organised person who knows how to talk to young people, you already have the tools to succeed.
Why This Role is Different:
Perfect Work-Life Balance: Work 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. When the school day ends, your day ends.
Holidays Off: This is a term-time-only role. You get school holidays off to spend with family, travel, or just relax.
Real Human Impact: You'll be working within a supportive Inclusion Team, mentoring students who need a bit of extra help overcoming learning, emotional, or behavioural barriers. You will literally change the trajectory of a young person's day.
What You Need to Bring:
A genuine desire to help young people achieve their personal best.
Great communication skills and the ability to build a quick rapport.
GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C) or equivalent.
Previous experience with young people (coaching, volunteering, youth groups, or parenting all count!).
Note: To ensure student safety, the successful candidate will undergo an Enhanced DBS check, social media check, and reference checks prior to starting.
Fast-Track Your Application
The school is actively reviewing applications and will interview as soon as the right person applies-even before the official closing date of Monday 1st June 2026. Don't let this one pass you by!
