Overview

A warm and welcoming family with three school-aged children, based in High Street Kensington, is seeking an experienced Live-In Housekeeper / Cook to join their established household team.

Working alongside two Daily Housekeepers, a Nanny and a PA, the successful candidate will have a dual role, with a particular focus on preparing fresh, family-style evening meals and batch cooking breakfasts, snacks and lunches.

When not cooking, the candidate will be expected to support the wider household team with housekeeping and childcare-related tasks as required. This may include assisting the Nanny with the children when needed.

We are looking for an experienced housekeeper who is also a genuinely accomplished and enthusiastic cook to join a private household. Cooking is an important part of the role. We are looking for someone confident preparing high-quality, fresh, modern international cuisine rather than formal or overly elaborate Cordon Bleu-style food. You should have a broad repertoire and be comfortable with Mediterranean, Asian, Middle Eastern and modern British dishes, as well as good-quality everyday home cooking and entertaining.

The right person will be able to plan varied weekly menus, shop intelligently for excellent fresh ingredients and prepare attractive, healthy meals, including catering confidently for gluten-free and vegetarian diets when required.

Alongside cooking, the role includes high-standard housekeeping and the day-to-day organisation of the home. We are looking for someone who is experienced, organised, discreet, flexible and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the confidence to take responsibility rather than needing constant direction.

A lovely opportunity has arisen for an experienced live-in Housekeeper/Cook who holds a European passport to join an informal household in the sought-after residential area of Virginia Water, Surrey.

The couple's 4 bedroom property is their part-time residence where they spend approximately 60% of their time.

The clients seek a highly experienced, organised and proactive individual who takes genuine pride in maintaining an immaculate home. Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of housekeeping, including daily cleaning, deep cleaning, laundry, ironing, running errands and general household organisation, ensuring the property is beautifully maintained at all times, whether the clients are in residence or travelling.

The successful candidate will enjoy preparing simple, nutritious and well-balanced family meals using fresh ingredients, cooking for the principals once or twice weekly when in residence, assisting with batch cooking several times a month and occasionally preparing and serving meals when entertaining guests. Additional responsibilities include occasional driving duties of elderly mother who lives locally so must be able to drive both a manual and automatic car. The household has two much-loved indoor cats so a genuine love of animals is essential. Duties will include feeding four times daily, brushing their coats, taking them for walks on a harness and taking responsibility for their care when the clients travel.

The Role This is a full-time, live-out position, Monday to Friday, providing a first-class private dining service for a family home. Working as part of a fully staffed household team, the successful candidate will take full ownership of the kitchen and the family's food, delivering creative, beautifully executed cooking that is highly health-conscious without ever compromising on flavour. Some flexibility is required, for example working an occasional weekend when the family are hosting an event, and the role includes travelling with the family for approximately two to three weeks per year.
