Hampton Academies Trust is seeking an ambitious, proactive and highly motivated Deputy Trust Estates Manager to support the operational management of our growing family of schools.

This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity for an estates professional who enjoys being actively involved in the day-to-day running of sites, leading projects and working alongside school-based teams to maintain high-quality learning environments. Supporting over 3,500 pupils and staff across our schools, this is a varied role that combines strategic oversight with practical, hands-on involvement in estates management, compliance, maintenance and health and safety.

Working closely with the Trust Estates Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our schools remain safe, secure, compliant and well maintained. You will build strong relationships with school leaders, site teams and contractors, helping to deliver estates services that support outstanding educational outcomes.

You will also deputise for the Trust Estates Manager when required and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the Trust's estates strategy.

About the Role

You will:

  • Provide visible, hands-on support across all Trust schools, regularly visiting sites and working closely with school-based teams.
  • Assist in the management of estates, facilities, grounds and building maintenance across the Trust.
  • Carry out site audits, inspections and compliance checks to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Lead on day-to-day health and safety compliance, statutory inspections and remedial actions.
  • Manage contractors on site, monitor standards of work and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Support and mentor Site Managers, Site Officers, Assistant Site Officers and Cleaning Staff, helping to develop a consistent approach across all schools.
  • Identify and resolve maintenance issues, coordinating repairs and ensuring defects are addressed promptly.
  • Monitor building performance, utilities, plant and equipment, helping to proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Respond to emergencies, breakdowns and unforeseen site issues, helping coordinate effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of efficient, best-value estates services that support the Trust's continued growth.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in estates, facilities, site, building or property management.
  • Enjoys a practical, operational role and is comfortable working both in the office and out on site.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of health and safety legislation, statutory compliance and risk management.
  • Has experience supervising contractors and supporting operational teams.
  • Has good practical knowledge of building maintenance, construction, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Can confidently prioritise workloads across multiple sites and respond effectively to changing priorities.
  • Is proactive, solutions-focused and willing to take ownership of issues from identification through to completion.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Is committed to delivering high standards and creating safe, inspiring environments for pupils and staff.
