SEN Teacher – Immediate Start | Hackney | Full-Time

Location: Hackney, East London
Start Date: ASAP
Position: SEN Teacher (KS2–KS4)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (with potential to go permanent)
Pay: Competitive (MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance, depending on experience)

An outstanding specialist school in Hackney is looking for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team immediately.

This welcoming and well-resourced school caters to pupils with complex needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and SEMH. They offer a tailored and nurturing environment where staff are supported and students thrive through a holistic and child-centred approach.

The School:

  • Supports primary and secondary-aged pupils with EHCPs

  • Excellent leadership and specialist support staff (e.g. therapists, TAs, behaviour mentors)

The Role:

  • Teach a small class of pupils with a range of SEN (including ASC, MLD, SEMH)

  • Develop personalised lesson plans with EHCP outcomes in mind

  • Deliver functional skills, core subjects, or a thematic curriculum depending on need

  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and therapists to maximise student engagement and development

  • Foster a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS or overseas equivalent with UK experience)

  • Previous experience working in a special school or with SEND students

  • Confident with behaviour management and using de-escalation strategies

  • Flexible, nurturing, and resilient approach

  • Immediate availability and enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
