About the role
Source Supply are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Dinnington, providing 1:1 support to children with additional needs. This rewarding role involves working closely with individual pupils to help them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs
· Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
· Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the pupil’s individual needs
· Support the pupil’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
· Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
· Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN staff
· Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
· Experience working with children, ideally in an educational or support setting
· A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Understanding of special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable
· Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
· Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
· Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting
· A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
· Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
· Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
· Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
· Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
