About the role

Are you an experienced Bid Manager ready to make a significant impact in the secure government market? We’re seeking a highly skilled professional to lead and manage winning bids, ensuring adherence to strategic, commercial, and compliance standards. This is a fantastic chance to shape the future of high-stakes proposals within a dynamic, reputable organization. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full bid lifecycle—from initial capture to final handover—collaborating with technical experts, business development teams, and client managers. You’ll develop bid strategies, manage bid teams, facilitate stakeholder analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, all while working closely with key government clients. What You Need: Proven experience in delivering successful bids, ideally in a structured process such as Shipley or similar Strong project and team management skills Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels Proficiency with Office365, MS Project, CRM, and industry sales techniques like Miller Heiman Commercial awareness and a keen eye for detail Active Security clearance APMP qualification or working towards it is highly desirable Nice to Have: Experience with proposal automation tools Knowledge of working within matrixed or global organizations Familiarity with Miller Heiman / Shipley methodologies Experience in secure government or defence sectors Preferred Qualifications: Relevant degree or equivalent experience Demonstrable success in bid management roles within the government or defence sectors Experience with the full lifecycle of bids, from early inception through to client interviews and lessons learned Other Requirements: Willingness to travel to client sites across the UK as needed. The role is offered remote with adhoc trips to offices in either Bristol, London, Cheltenham, Birmingham, or Manchester Contract duration: 12+ months, with immediate start preferred This is a unique chance to play a key role in securing high-value government contracts and advancing your career in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
