About the role
Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be working on behalf of our client, a highly respected law firm, to recruit a Data Protection Paralegal to join their busy and growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Paralegal with litigation experience who is looking to develop their career within an interesting and ever-evolving area of law. Whether your background is in Personal Injury, Civil Litigation, Clinical Negligence, Employment, Housing or another litigation-based discipline, we are keen to hear from candidates with strong transferable skills and a genuine interest in learning something new.
Previous Data Protection experience is not essential. Our client is looking for an organised, proactive and client-focused individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and would welcome the opportunity to venture into a new area of legal practice.
As a Data Protection Paralegal, you will support Litigation Solicitors whilst assisting clients throughout every stage of the claims process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with consumer privacy violation claims, data breach compensation claims, and group litigation matters.
- Taking initial client instructions, gathering evidence, opening files and supporting fee earners with ongoing litigation.
- Assisting with matters relating to the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018 and misuse of private information claims.
- Communicating with clients, obtaining relevant information, and supporting documentation.
- Managing electronic case files, monitoring deadlines, and ensuring compliance requirements are met.
- Assisting with document disclosure, document review, and case preparation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Paralegal within a law firm.
- Litigation experience, gained in any legal discipline.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach.
- A professional, empathetic and resilient attitude when dealing with sensitive matters.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist and rapidly changing area of law.
- Experience within litigation environments would be advantageous but is by no means essential.
