North American Claims Adjuster

Large International and well established insurer has an opportunity for a Claims Adjuster – North America to join their Claims team. You will report into the Claims Manager and be responsible for:

-To assist the Property Binder Claims team to further develop the company’s market leading Property Binder claims offering, in order to contribute to the attraction and retention of profitable business
-To assist in delivery of the Claims Business Plan through management of claims issues arising from a designated book of business and development of nominated

This role includes responsibilities such as:

-Delivery, through personal ownership and via the team, of a first-class service to all customers.
-Management of claims arising from the delegated portfolio (to include those beyond personal authority) – this may be achieved by personal ownership or by working with a more experienced colleague.
-Ownership of nominated client relationships to ensure delivery of Claims services to support and develop business objectives.
-Coverholder and TPA Account Management role.
-Liaison with Underwriters to assist in ensuring that they are fully briefed on claims issues at an individual level.
-Ensuring fair customer outcomes & commerciality when decision making in line with the Company values.
-To have a clear understanding of the company’s risk appetites in terms of delegated authority, conduct and financial crime.
-Champion the company values and work in accordance with the organisational behaviours.
-To be aware of and comply with the relevant rules and regulations in relation to financial crime & conduct.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

-General insurance market background in relevant business class(es) and territories.
-In depth knowledge of the workings of the London market especially with regards to North American Binding Authorities.
-Good understanding of how a Binding Authority works and the surrounding relationships.
-Understanding and knowledge of market practices, duties and obligations all parties.
-Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, ECF.
