Developing your Power Systems Engineering career with a fast-growing, award-winning global engineering consultancy at the forefront of data centre and mission-critical infrastructure design.

Based from Manchester or London, with hybrid working #WFH 2-3 days PW. You will join a specialist Power Systems & Infrastructure team working on some of the largest, most complex and technically challenging data centre developments in the UK and internationally.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer or Principal Power Systems Engineer to combine advanced technical engineering with project leadership, client interaction and genuine career progression within a global consultancy recognised as a 5-Star Employer.

You will like

The Senior / Principal Power Systems Engineer role itself, providing specialist electrical power systems expertise from concept and feasibility through detailed design and project delivery.

Depending on experience and seniority, you will:

  • Undertake and lead complex power system studies and electrical network analysis
  • Deliver load flow and short circuit / fault level studies
  • Complete protection coordination and discrimination studies
  • Undertake arc flash assessments and transient analysis
  • Develop robust LV, MV and HV power distribution solutions

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary electrical, mechanical, civil and infrastructure teams
  • Build strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • Review technical outputs and provide engineering assurance
  • Mentor and develop less experienced Power Systems Engineers
  • At Principal level, lead technical delivery, multidisciplinary teams and key client relationships

Projects are predominantly within the rapidly expanding data centre, mission-critical and critical infrastructure markets, giving you exposure to technically sophisticated, high-value projects worldwide.

You will have

To be successful as Senior / Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will ideally be:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or similar
  • Chartered Engineer / CEng, or actively progressing towards chartership
  • Experienced in power systems design, analysis and project delivery
  • Strong in load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash and/or transient studies
  • Experienced with ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or comparable power system analysis software
  • Knowledgeable across LV, MV and/or HV electrical networks
  • Experienced within data centres, utilities, renewable energy, critical infrastructure or similarly complex electrical environments
  • Confident dealing directly with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Able to provide technical leadership and mentoring at Senior/Principal level

Previous data centre experience is highly attractive, although strong transferable power systems expertise from utilities, energy or other critical infrastructure environments is equally relevant.

You will get

As Senior / Principal Power Systems Engineer, you will enjoy a highly competitive package including:

£62K-£78K Salary DOE for London & £60K–£72K Salary DOE for Manchester.

  • Annual discretionary bonus
