We are currently looking for experienced Steel Fixers to join a busy construction project in Gillingham, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and hardworking steel fixers looking for ongoing work with a competitive rate of £23 per hour.

The Role

As a Steel Fixer, you will be responsible for installing and securing steel reinforcement in accordance with project drawings, specifications and site requirements.

Typical duties will include:

• Fixing and tying reinforcement steel for concrete structures.
• Reading and working from reinforcement drawings and plans.
• Cutting, bending and positioning reinforcement steel as required.
• Installing rebar, mesh and associated reinforcement.
• Using hand tools and steel-fixing equipment safely and effectively.
• Working alongside other steel fixers, groundworkers and the wider site team.
• Ensuring all work is completed to the required standards and specifications.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working area.
• Following all site health and safety procedures.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will need:

• Valid CSCS card – essential.
• Previous experience working as a Steel Fixer.
• Good understanding of steel reinforcement and fixing techniques.
• Ability to read and understand construction/reinforcement drawings.
• Own basic tools and appropriate PPE.
• Good understanding of health and safety on a construction site.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
