About the Role

You will take ownership of a varied private client caseload, working with a degree of autonomy while being part of a collaborative and supportive team. The role is full-time and office-based in Tavistock, reflecting the firm's commitment to delivering a genuinely personal, face-to-face service to its clients.

Private Client Lawyer Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of private client matters including wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, estate and trust administration, and inheritance tax planning
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional referrers
• Contributing to the growth and development of the Private Client department
• Cross-referring work and collaborating with colleagues across the firm
• Taking financial responsibility for your matters including billing and cash flow management
• Maintaining accurate records using the firm's case management system
• Ensuring compliance with SRA standards and firm policies

Private Client Lawyer Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 3–5 years' PQE in private client work
• Strong technical knowledge across wills, trusts, estate administration and IHT planning
• Excellent client care and relationship-building skills
• Well organised with strong time management and attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Good IT skills and ability to adapt to case management systems

Desirable

• STEP qualification
• SFE accreditation
• Full, clean driving licence (occasional client travel required)
