Here at Pick Everard, we are passionate about creating a prosperous and sustainable future, taking a fresh perspective on the built environment. Our core values of professionalism, compassion, drive and positivity are at the heart of everything we do.

Do you want to work on a variety of projects within an award-winning multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy?

Are you seeking a company that supports your wellbeing, growth, and career progression?

If you answered yes to the above questions, we want to hear from you!

We’re looking to appoint a Principal Hydrologist to join our Water Civil Engineering team. This role can be carried out from a variety of offices including Leicester, Cardiff, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, Glasgow or London.

The Principal Hydrologist will act as the conduit between the wider team and Associates/Associate Directors. You'll take ownership and lead on projects, checking the work of your team and managing delivery of technical and commercial work.

 Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Undertake hydrological and flood hydraulic simulations and provision of model outputs and analysis, acting as the point of contact in directing others to do so.
  • Use FEH and other standard methodologies to support engineering design, river engineering, restoration/habitat improvement, flood alleviation schemes and hydrological/hydraulic design on projects from pre planning stage all the way through to construction detail.
  • Run and supervise Flood Risk Assessments, bespoke hydrological assessments, drainage design and strategy, and hydraulic modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, WINFAP 5, ReFH 2, Low flows 2 or similar software.
  • Act as a technical lead in supporting the Flood Risk and Hydrology Team in all aspects relating to the use or output of our software portfolio and provide advanced modelling and content creation support, as well as responding to specific scope and deliverable requirements from clients.
  • Support and direct others in the analysis of data and data sets to define trends, correlations and anomalies using appropriate technologies and software.
  • Maintain your Continuing Professional Development (CDP) plan of training in accordance with Institutional requirements, which will keep you up to date with technical advances and benefit you and Pick Everard.
  • Ensure that you understand and comply with all Pick Everard Security, Health & Safety, sustainability and social value standards, requirements, practices, and procedures.
