Gleeds is a leading global property and construction consultancy. Independent since 1875, we are proud to deliver award-winning projects around the world. We are a Great Place to Work certified employer, with our people at the heart of everything we do.

Climate change and Sustainability is at the top of our agenda, we have been established within the energy sector for the past 40 years and have achieved significant growth in the past years as we contribute to a sector that will have trillions of pounds of investment over the next decade. Our teams are at the forefront of the change, managing life changing projects in Solar, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Renewables and Defence, and we want you to be part of that too.

The Estimating team at Gleeds Energy is expanding to support the delivery of a large infrastructure programme in the Midlands. We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to work as part of an integrated client team, providing estimating and cost assurance support across a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects. The role will help establish robust estimates, strengthen estimating governance and provide clear, evidence-based cost advice to project and programme stakeholders.

Your day-to-day might look like
  • Prepare, develop and maintain detailed cost estimates for a large infrastructure programme in Derby, using appropriate estimating methods, assumptions and source data.
  • Support estimate reviews and cost assurance activities, testing scope, quantities, rates, allowances, risk, escalation and schedule alignment.
  • Work closely with client project managers, engineers, planners, risk, commercial and finance teams to clarify scope, challenge inputs and communicate the basis of estimate.
  • Develop estimate plans, support estimating solutions and lead defined estimating activities where required.
  • Apply recognised estimating techniques and understand the relationship between scope, schedule, risk, cost and estimate maturity.
  • Contribute to the development of estimating processes, guidance, templates, benchmarking and cost intelligence, and coach members of the wider estimating community.
  • Ensure estimates are clearly documented, independently reviewed, approved and presented in line with programme governance and assurance requirements.
  • Support change control, cost forecasting, baseline development and reporting across the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain effective working relationships on the Derby client site and handle programme information in accordance with applicable security, confidentiality and information-management requirements.

No two days are the same, we are a flexible team that support each other’s projects as well as getting in involved with wider business activities and we believe that variety is key to your development.
