Product Specialist – UK & Ireland – Complex Equipment

We are looking for a Product Specialist to join the UK & Ireland team. You’ll take ownership of a specialist product portfolio, developing customer relationships and identifying opportunities across research, industrial and high-tech markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute territory and customer sales plans to achieve annual revenue and margin targets.
• Build strong relationships with customers and understand their technical and commercial requirements.
• Identify, qualify and develop new sales opportunities from initial lead through to order.
• Apply strong knowledge of laser and photonics products to recommend complete technical solutions.
• Grow existing accounts while developing new customers and market opportunities.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and customer information within the CRM.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and supporting technical documentation.
• Conduct regular customer visits, with a focus on building relationships with key decision-makers, influencers and technical stakeholders.
• Represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows and industry events.
• Work closely with manufacturers, service teams and internal colleagues to deliver an excellent customer experience.
• Provide market, competitor and product feedback to the Sales Manager and Marketing team.
• Maintain and continually develop technical and commercial knowledge through training and industry engagement.

Requirements

• Experience in Photonics, Lasers, Optics or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of technical applications and the ability to translate customer requirements into solutions.
• Previous experience in technical sales, business development, applications engineering or a customer-facing technical role.
• Commercially driven with a proven ability to develop opportunities and build long-term customer relationships.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing your own territory and sales pipeline.
• Confident working with technical and commercial stakeholders at all levels.
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK & Ireland.
