Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Support Worker based in Porthcawl, your daily duties will include:

Supporting children and young people with their daily activities and interests, promoting independence and wellbeing.
Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips to ensure engaging and safe experiences.
Supporting children during weekend and evening activities, such as climbing, baking, or trips to leisure destinations like Butlins.
Protecting children from risks to their health and welfare by following care plans and safety guidelines.
Providing emotional and practical support to young people within your care.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans and safeguarding procedures.
Assisting in managing challenging behaviour and minimising incidents through positive intervention strategies.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:

A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children or within a social care setting.
Restraint training or willingness to undergo TMVA restraint training.
A valid UK Driving Licence.
An Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
The right to work in the UK.
An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature with strong relationship-building skills.
Understanding of trauma, homelessness, domestic abuse, and crisis response.
