We are currently recruiting for a Design Technician to join a busy manufacturing and fabrication environment.

This role will involve producing detailed manufacturing drawings, job packs and CNC punch programmes to support production from order through to manufacture.

Main Responsibilities

• Create 3D SolidWorks models from customer drawings and specifications
• Produce fabrication and assembly drawings for production
• Create DXF files and import into SigmaNest / Stream Punch
• Prepare and optimise nests for CNC punch machinery
• Ensure correct materials and quantities are allocated to production schedules
• Liaise with production, sales and customers regarding design or fabrication queries
• Support production teams with technical and fabrication information
• Troubleshoot drawing or production issues and maintain accurate documentation
• Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with health and safety procedures

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Working knowledge of 3D SolidWorks, specifically sheet metal and drawings
• Understanding of fabrication techniques and engineering drawings
• Experience working with CNC punch machinery or punch programming
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Good communication and IT skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Positive attitude with a “right first time” approach

Desirable

• Experience using SigmaNest or Stream Punch
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and quality improvement tools
