SEND Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a three-form-entry, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ primary school in Wolverhampton.

This role will involve providing 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 6 who has ADHD and requires additional support with their learning and development.

The pupil is currently working below age-related expectations, and the school is seeking a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships, implement effective behaviour management strategies and provide consistent, tailored support to meet the pupil’s individual needs.

The position is full-time, starting as soon as possible and continuing until December 2026. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Required Skills and Experience

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
• Have good knowledge and experience of working with SEND.
• Have experience working in a nursery or primary school as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
• Have experience supporting pupils with ADHD or additional learning needs.
• Have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or have a DBS certificate that was issued within the last 12 months.
• Be able to provide a minimum of two strong references.
• Have recent UK school-based experience.
