Our client is a market-leading provider of specialist logistics services, delivering high-value scientific and laboratory equipment to universities, hospitals, research campuses and labs across the country. As they continue on their journey of growth, they’re looking for Class 2 HGV Drivers who enjoy variety, customer contact, and a role that offers a bit more than the standard driving job.
Why This Role Stands Out
Monday to Friday only — no weekends. Predictable 40-45 hour week.
Home most nights. Occasional overnight stays for larger jobs — always with plenty of notice.
£18 Per Hour (Including Holiday Pay), with regular overtime and performance bonus.
Genuinely varied work — a university lab one day, a hospital research wing the next.
Two-person crews most days — great if you’re tired of being on your own all day.
Clean, professional sites — no scruffy industrial estates or rough yards.
The Role
You’ll be delivering specialist scientific and laboratory equipment to point of use — that means you’re not just dropping at a dock, you’re taking the kit through to where it’s actually needed. Sites typically include universities, laboratories, hospitals and research campuses.
The work has a real customer-service element to it — you’ll be the face of the client on site — and there’s a fair amount of manual handling, but full training and equipment are provided, and you’ll usually be working as part of a two-person team. Larger jobs bring in additional crew where needed.
Start times are usually between 06:00 and 06:30.
Overnight Stays
When the job takes you further afield, the client covers everything: hotel, evening meal, and £40 night-out allowance on top of your normal pay. Notice is always given well in advance, so no last-minute surprises and no being away from home unexpectedly.

What We Need From You
Valid Class 2 HGV (C) Licence with in-date Tacho card and Driver CPC
Strong customer service skills — you’ll be representing the client on site every day
A can-do, team-first attitude
Comfortable with manual handling — full training and equipment provided
