Aircraft Mechanical SupervisorLocation: RAF Valley, Isle of Anglesey Position: Permanent Salary: £ 34,703.20 + £3,978 shift allowance Reference: SF66158OverviewMorson Edge is supporting a leading defence aviation organisation in the recruitment of a Aircraft Mechanical Supervisor to support Hawk aircraft rectification and maintenance operations at RAF Valley.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aircraft engineer or supervisor looking to combine hands-on engineering with leadership responsibility within a highly respected military aviation programme. You'll play a key role in supporting aircraft availability, maintaining technical standards, and leading maintenance activities within a safety-critical environment.Why Apply?

Shift Pattern
36 hours per weekMonday to Friday06:00 – 13:45
Key Responsibilities
Undertake and supervise aircraft depth maintenance and diagnostic activitiesCarry out inspections, repairs, modifications, and system testingAnalyse and diagnose faults on aircraft systems and componentsSupport maintenance delivery against operational and programme requirementsProvide technical leadership and support to maintenance techniciansPromote best practice and a proactive maintenance culture within the teamCarry out compliance-related support activities, including tooling control and oversight checksEnsure all maintenance activities comply with approved procedures and Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) requirementsMaintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and regulatory complianceSupport aircraft availability and operational readiness targets
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous supervisory or leadership experience within an aircraft maintenance environmentFully qualified technician with relevant maintenance authorities and certificationsStrong aircraft maintenance and fault diagnostic capabilityBroad aviation maintenance experience supported by current and recent logbook evidenceGood understanding of aviation safety standards and safe systems of workExperience working within a safety-critical operational environmentStrong communication and team leadership skillsEligible to obtain and maintain BPSS and Security Clearance
Qualifications
Completion of a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or military equivalentCity & Guilds 2675 Aeronautical Engineering & Maintenance or NVQ Level 3 in an Aeronautical disciplineAircraft platform training relevant to the fleetTrade Principles trainingGood IT competency
