Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Wolverhampton. This Teaching Assistant role will involve working closely with the class teacher to support a safe, engaging and positive learning environment within a Year 4 class.

The school is looking for a candidate with experience providing small-group and 1:1 interventions in core subjects. The successful candidate will also be confident supporting pupils with phonics using the Read Write Inc. scheme.

This role will start as soon as possible and continue until April 2027. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. There is also the potential for a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate.

Required Skills and Experience

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must:

• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
• Have good curriculum knowledge of the primary curriculum, particularly at KS2.
• Have experience delivering small-group and 1:1 interventions in core subjects.
• Have experience supporting pupils with phonics, ideally using the Read Write Inc. scheme.
• Have experience working in a nursery or primary school as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (LSA).
• Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or have a DBS certificate that was issued within the last 12 months.
• Be able to provide a minimum of two strong references.
• Have recent UK school-based experience.
