About the role
Job Overview
Responsible for writing and coding individual programmes from specific requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents
- Perform coding to written technical specifications
- Investigate, analyse and document reported defects
- Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects
- Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses
- Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates
- Investigate, analyse and make recommendations regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications
Skills / Attributes Required
- Software engineering experience, developing a variety of software systems
- Experience of developing data-driven applications utilising relational databases
- Experience of building applications utilising N-Tier architecturesAbility to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents
- Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines
- A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work
- A degree in an IT related discipline is preferred
