Android App Developer – Scarborough, UK

Location: Scarborough, on the outskirts, Free parking available.
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and skillset

We are working with a leading UK retailer, shipping to over 120 countries via multiple custom-built websites and apps. We pride ourselves on keeping control within in-house teams, delivering a seamless, customer-focused online experience supported by a small number of specialist partners.

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Android App Developer to join our web development team. You will work alongside the Senior App Developer to design, deliver, and maintain our customer-facing Android app. This role is office-based and ideal for a developer passionate about eCommerce, app design, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  Collaborate on the look and feel of the app, aligned with brand and website guidelines.

  
  


• 
  

  Develop and evolve the Android eCommerce app in line with best practice.

  
  


• 
  

  Integrate and support key 3rd party partners, adding new functionality where needed.

  
  


• 
  

  Keep apps up to date with core Android updates to ensure usability and functionality.

  
  

Skills & Experience

• 
  

  Strong experience developing dynamic eCommerce apps using Kotlin, ideally in retail.

  
  


• 
  

  Proficient in Android SDK and Android Studio.

  
  


• 
  

  Familiar with RESTful APIs and XML data connections.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience implementing unit testing processes.

  
  


• 
  

  A keen eye for design to positively impact the customer experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Relevant degree or professional qualification preferred but not essential.
